Photo Presets

Photo presets

Three ways to keep a look and use it again: recipes saved on this device, settings strings you can copy and share, and .cube colour tables brought in from elsewhere. Below them, the 41 built-in looks as presets, each with its numbers in plain sight and a link that opens the lab already set.

Recipes, settings strings and .cube tables

Saved recipe
Recipe → Save in the lab. The effect, its settings, strength, tone and texture, kept in this browser only and shown under Saved on the strip.
Settings string
Recipe → Copy settings. A short fp1. string with the same recipe plus mask shape and export frame, to paste on another device, into the batch page, or open as a link.
.cube table
Recipe → Import a .cube colour table. Read in the tab and applied with trilinear interpolation; not stored after you leave, and not written into settings strings.

Questions

What is a photo preset here?
A preset is a short list of numbers — exposure, contrast, warmth, lift, saturation, split toning, grain — applied to your photo. The built-in looks are presets, and every one is listed on this page with its numbers, so you can see what it does before you open it.
Where are my saved recipes kept?
In this browser's local storage, on this device only: the look's name and numbers, never the picture, its name or its size. Up to 24 are kept; they appear under Saved on the strip.
How do I share a preset with someone else?
In the lab, open Recipe and choose Copy settings. You get a short string starting fp1. — paste it into the lab on any device, into the batch page, or send the link that opens the lab already set.
Can I use presets from other apps?
A .cube colour table can be imported in the lab (Recipe → Import a .cube colour table) and is applied with trilinear interpolation. Other apps' preset files are not read.
Why does a settings string refuse to open?
Every field is checked against the lab's own ranges before anything is applied, and the message names the field that is wrong — usually a string cut short when it was copied.
