Permission to use this site for personal or commercial work, at no charge, with no account and no limit on how many pictures you put through it. Renders you make here are yours to do anything with; nothing on this page claims a licence over them, and there is no mechanism by which it could, since the files never reach us.

You are responsible for having the right to work on whatever you open. The lab has no way of knowing what a picture is or where it came from, and no way of checking — that judgement is entirely yours, and so is the consequence of getting it wrong.

You agree not to try to interfere with the site itself: no attempts to break it, overload it, or use it as a component in something that does either. Since the whole thing is static files and a few hundred kilobytes of JavaScript, there is not much surface for any of that, which is one of the advantages of building it this way.

The site is provided as it stands, without warranty of any kind. It may be unavailable, it may contain mistakes, and an effect may produce a result you did not want. To the extent the law permits, we are not liable for loss arising from using it — including lost work, lost time, or a render that turned out wrong.

That clause is standard, and here is the specific thing behind it. Every effect on this site is a deliberate, irreversible reduction: a halftone, a dither and a pixelation all work by measuring regions and replacing them, and what was in those regions is gone from the result. The tool never touches the file on your device — the original is untouched wherever you keep it — but the render is not something you can walk backwards. Keep the original.

Advertising is what this lab is intended to run on, and the units will be Google’s once the account behind this domain is approved. None of them is on the page today — the switch that renders them is off, and nothing here reaches an ad network while you use it. From the day they appear, Google’s terms apply to them alongside these, and the privacy page sets out what they can and cannot see.

There is no visit counter either. No measurement service is configured, so no third party is told that you were here, and the only thing your browser fetches from this domain is the site itself.

These terms may be revised; the version on this page is the one that applies. Continuing to use the site after a change means accepting the revision. Where local law gives you rights these terms cannot remove, those rights stand and the rest of this page still applies.
